Hello Everyone,
Welcome to my blog. To be completely honest, this whole blog thing has been one of the most intimidating things I have done in years. Though in only took me a couple of minutes to develop it per the instructions and only a minute to figure out what the professor meant in her email regarding adding folks to this. Its funny, I am taking two wellness courses simultaneously, and this is the most stressed out I have been in quite some time. It could also be simply bad timing, recently we gained a new commander who (mildly put) is quite challenging. Plus, with my recent decision to retire, my future is far less certain than the previous two decades. All this in addition to the damage my body has incurred during my service has finally caught up to me. So, if I seem distant or unfocused, please, bear with me. Thank you for reading.

Aaron,
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to blog, but you can use these personal experiences to make the blog come alive. I have always wanted to do a blog, but never knew where to begin. I really enjoyed writing mine. My life may be pretty uneventful to some people, but someone out there can identify with me, and understands why I struggled to do a relaxation exercise while my four children seemed to be drawn to me during the process. We can laugh a little, and maybe understand a little more about ourselves and others through blogging. Try not to allow it to stress you out because I am sure that is not the intent of this class, although I see you do have a lot going on! Ironically, last term, my class on stress really stressed me out, and I probably should have taken a step back to reflect on what I was learning about, and perhaps I would have been able to better cope with stress.
Good luck on retirement! We still have 7 years, and it is scary for me to even think about at this point. And I also completely understand the effect that a "challenging" commander can have on a situation. They can really make the workplace morale flourish or shrivel up and die. Hopefully it gets better, but I know that is difficult.
Warm regards,
Amy
Aaron,
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you about the blog being intimidating. It really threw me at first when I was trying to make it. Once I got it done I took a moment and laughed at myself for being so worried about getting it done and making sure it was done correctly. I do find it funny in your post that while taking two wellness classes you're stressed more than you have been in the past. It is crazy how classes that should help you can potential cause more grief than anything else.
I was in the military and my husband still currently is so I definitely can relate to your comment about a "challenging" commander. My husband has 9 more years! Good luck on your retirement and good luck with both of your classes!
